Rung 12 of 12
The Independence Audit
The last rung is an exam with one question: if you cancel us today, does anything break? We walk every wire, fix anything that still depends on anyone, and then you do the thing this whole ladder was built for — you leave, proudly. Or stay for the back office, by choice, with proof you don't need to.
The audit checklist
- Domain — in your registrar account, auto-renew on, you can log in right now.
- Site — on your hosting account; you know its two DNS records and have moved a subdomain once with your own hands.
- Payments — Stripe in your name, money landing in your bank, fee math understood.
- Customer list — every customer and near-customer exported to a file you hold. Followers are rented; the list is owned. If your contacts live only inside some platform, fix that this week.
- Books — P&L current within 30 days, every line yours.
- Channel — the weekly routine has run without anyone reminding you for a month.
- Back office — three recipes, written, rebuildable.
- The pitch — still true? Prices moved, the person sharpened? Say the current version out loud.
Anything that fails gets fixed this month, with the copilot. Then the audit runs once more, clean.
The handover doc — from you, to you
The final exercise is writing the one-page manual of your own business: every account and where it lives, every routine and when it runs, every number that matters. Not for us — for you in eighteen months, for a family member in an emergency, for the day you hire help. A business that exists only in your head isn't owned; it's memorized.
Graduation, plainly
Then you cancel. That's not a dark-pattern dare — it's the point of the design. We said it on the first day: the average member should need about twelve months, and if you're here in year two, we've failed. Some graduates keep the $9.99 running because the back-office copilot pays for itself and the audit proves it's a choice, not a crutch. Either answer passes. Dependence is the only failing grade.
After
Graduates go on the alumni page, with permission — name, business, link. Not testimonials; a record that people leave here with something that's theirs. It's the strangest marketing page in this industry, and the only one we want.
With the copilot — membership, $9.99/mo
The copilot runs the audit line by line, schedules the fixes for anything that fails, helps you write the handover doc, and then — genuinely — helps you cancel, including exporting anything of yours from us. The last thing it does is ask permission to list you as a graduate.
The milestone — checkable, not a vibe
A clean audit, a written handover doc, and a decision made from strength: cancel (graduated) or stay for the back office (graduated, subscribing by choice). Either way: nothing about your business breaks without us. That's the diploma.
Everything on this page is free to use on your own. The membership is the copilot doing it with you — a coach that remembers your business and your progress — plus a milestone review before you climb. $9.99 a month, cancel anytime — and we expect you to.
